We have been relocating our clients from every corner of the world to Africa and from Africa to every corner of the world for over 30 years.
We are experts in the international movement of household goods and personal effects, diplomatic shipments, AID, and vehicles by air, sea and land to, from and within Africa. Several offices also have qualified staff who handle the relocation of pets.
Our clients include many diplomatic organisations and embassies, international relocation agents, charitable organisations, NGO’s, corporations including banks, mining, oil and gas companies, and private individuals.
FOR EXPORT
Our teams are highly experienced professional packers you can trust.
Our teams will arrive in their Worldwide Movers uniforms and the Team Leader will introduce himself and supervise the work. It can take a number of days to pack a whole house. Everything will be carefully packaged and each box or package will be labelled.
The team will create a packing list on which they will note the condition of the items and they will also take photographs (particularly if there is any existing damage evident). The supervisor will ask you to sign the list and he will counter sign it.
We aim to source our materials from local sustainable suppliers. Some items such a bubble wrap are not always available locally and we have to import them. We try to keep the use of plastics to a minimum and we would encourage you to support our team in using paper, cardboard and other sustainable materials wherever possible.
Once the house is packed the goods will be loaded 'stuffed' into a container. This is a highly skilled job and most teams have their favourite team member for coordinating this job. As the boxes and packages are loaded into the container a 'bingo list' will be used to count them in. Our team will usually ask for your presence at this point and you may want to count them in yourself.
Once everything is finished our Team Leader will ask you to go through the house with him to double check that everything that should be packed has been. We do not pack, keys, passports as you will be needing these and nor do we pack items such as jewellery which are better carried on your person.
Your container will then be taken to storage or to the port as necessary.
LOCAL MOVE
The process for a local move is different. Items do not have to be wrapped for international shipment, labelled and listed as they are not being exported and then imported. They will also be handled by us from start to finish. Your furniture will be protected by 'moving blankets' which can be cleaned and re-used. Items will be boxed as necessary to protect them or for ease of handling. It is possible to re-use boxes for a local move saving on cost and materials. Often one of our smaller trucks are used so that the items can be moved in sets. We can then have members of the team at both ends, so that, whilst your old house is being emptied, your new house is already starting to look like home.
